Yin and yang in yoga represent complementary forces—yin embodies stillness, surrender, and deep connective-tissue work through long-held, passive postures, while yang brings heat, effort, and dynamic movement through active sequences that build strength and circulation; together they create balance by honoring both softness and structure, allowing the nervous system to calm even as muscles tone, and inviting practitioners to cultivate presence, resilience, and harmony on and off the mat.
